The Great Indian Food Fest 2019 - what you need to know

Gear up you spice-mongers! The Singapore Indian Restaurant Association, in conjunction with the Singapore Food Festival 2019, brings you a trail of variety and adventure in the form of dexterous Indian cuisine.

Foodies unite! For its time to don your buffet-pants and wrangle up those napkins. The Singapore Food Festival (SFF) is here and with it, a smorgasbord of wonderful food to sample from.

One of the many events running through the month of July is The Great Indian Food Fest (GIFF) in Singapore. Little India will host the array of countless Indian dishes prepared for hungry crowds and curious tongues. So here’s what you need to know about this journey of spice and everything nice.

When and where is it happening?

From 19 July till 28 July 2019, enjoy over 2 whole weeks of stuffing your face with good food that is sure to tickle your taste buds.

The festival is to take place along the stretch of Campbell Lane. Located just in front of the Indian Heritage Centre, you’ll find 17 street food carts in the heart of Little India.

Board a train travelling the Downtown Line and look for the Little India Station (DT12). Upon exiting, take the Tekka Centre exit and you’ll find Campbell Lane on the opposite side of the centre.

What can I expect?

You can expect a holistic cultural experience. The GIFF will also be featuring a number of fun activities and exciting shows such as parrot fortune-telling, henna art, Rangoli art and a selection of projected films along the food street.

Headlining the event will be Sashi Cheliah a Singaporean-born Masterchef winner. He will lend his services to conduct a masterclass demo on the 20th after judging a food competition on the same day.

The event charges no admission fee and attendees will be able to use cash to purchase goods and wares at the stalls. However, Klook is giving you a chance to go cashless. Head over to their website to purchase event vouchers at a slight discount.
